A Stitch in Time

Textile Conservation
My portfolio is broken down into sections based on where the projects were completed to give credit to the wonderful organizations I have been fortunate to be a part of. In a workshop environment, there is a free flowing collaboration of ideas, but all work presented has been completed by me personally.

In order to demonstrate my detail oriented documentation process and what you can expect from me, I have included one full project with complete documentation under the title WWII Japanese Flag. Under the subject headings at the top you can view the full condition report, treatment proposal, and post-treatment report. For all other projects this information is kept confidential to respect the privacy of the clients or institutions.

Three projects will be given their own pages in order to properly showcase specific skill sets in detail:
-
A Nurses Uniform which was cleaned in a way to preserve the historic staining while removing inherent vice
-
A Silk Bed Hanging which was cleaned locally with the use of gels which allowed for otherwise impossible aqueous cleaning
-
A Chinese Silk Embroidery which required extensive stitch repair and stabilization
